Indira Gandhi International Airport
Overview
India's busiest airport, about 16 km southwest of New Delhi. A major hub for both domestic and international travel, with three passenger terminals.
Terminals
Terminal 3 handles all international flights plus full-service domestic (Air India, Vistara routes); Terminal 1 is for low-cost domestic (IndiGo, SpiceJet); Terminal 2 supplements domestic. A free shuttle links the terminals.
Lounges
Terminal 3 has an excellent spread — Plaza Premium, Encalm and airline lounges including Air India and Emirates.
Getting to the city
The Airport Express Metro (Orange Line) reaches New Delhi railway station in about 20 minutes. Taxis and app cabs take 30–60 minutes depending on traffic.
Insider tip
T1 and T3 are far apart — double-check your terminal and leave buffer time between connections.
